As always you can count on #BeHealth for a concise update on what happened in the Belgian Digital Health landscape the past week. This time all of them come directly from hospitals sharing their innovative projects:
- On Tuesday an article (NL) reported about the study of UZ Gent and MindBytes regarding the effects of a newly developed Serious Game to reduce preoperative anxiety and pain for children and parents.
- On Wednesday IBD Kliniek Bonheiden reported on Twitter about the start of their patient reported outcome collection for IBD patients. A project they are doing together with Belgian Digital Health startup Awell.
- Another innovative project in Gent was shared on Wednesday but this time at AZ Maria Middelares where they launched a remote patient monitoring project based on the Philips Early Warning Score. They started this project despite of the fact that there is no reimbursement for this type of preventative and pro-active healthcare approach.
- On Thursday Arnaud Bosteels, Head of Anaesthesia department at Clinique Saint-Jean Brussels, shared how Virtual Reality from Belgian Digital Health startup Oncomfort is already used in Belgium for patient relaxation during a total knee replacement under spinal anaesthesia.
